Central Mass Day Date Spots For You And Yours

0

Dates are few and far between for my husband and me right now. Sometimes even a day date can feel impossible to fit in with two little ones under four, busy full-time jobs, bedtime routines, and weekend plans. Can anyone else relate?

BUT just like anything else that’s important, we try to regularly discuss it, and make a point to get a day date on the books. (Not always easy!) Anyway, sometimes evening dates don’t always work for us (and let’s be real, I want to be in my bed reading by 9 pm anyway), so…. day dates FTW.

As a foodie, and someone who really enjoys switching up our day date spots, I thought I would share some great places to check out with your main squeeze.

In no particular order, here are some of our favorite Central Mass day date spots:

Nan’s Kitchen and Market (Southborough and Stow)

Where do I even begin? My love for Nan’s began in 2021 when they catered my first wellness retreat in Bolton, MA. Amazing, make-your-own bowls, delicious fried chicken sandwiches, an awesome wine selection, and freshly-squeezed lemonade! They really think of it all here and put all their love into every bit of it. I’ve never been disappointed. Stay awhile and enjoy their outdoor seating at their Stow location.

Root and Press (Worcester)

Another favorite for their amazing and friendly customer service, tasty & creative meals, and some of the best seasonal beverage options in the city. Plus, their cozy space screams “grab a book, sit down, and relax” and I just love that about them. If the weather is lovely, grab a table outside.

Clinton Bar & Grille (Clinton)

Don’t sleep on Clinton. I lived there for a year and Clinton Bar and Grille became a fast favorite for their delicious options. You can get incredible pizzas, salads, burgers, and pasta dishes. There’s something for everyone, and outdoor dining is an option when warmer weather arrives. Get their roasted beets pizza. Trust me… even if you’re not a big beets lover.

Seven Saws Brewing Co. (Holden)

I had to pick a Holden spot — obviously…it’s where I live. When Seven Saws opened their second, more spacious location, I got really excited because it meant another place to hang out, live music, cool collaborations, and still the same tasty beer. My husband and I love a good reason to sit in the sun, so their back patio totally brings us joy.

Rota Springs Farm (Sterling)

Ice cream, anyone? This might be the ultimate day date idea. My husband and I love ice cream and there’s something so cute and simple about hanging out at a picnic table with the sun shining on our faces and enjoying a fun, new flavor. Spring is here. Do it up!

The Barn (Princeton)

I grew up in Princeton, and back in the day, The Mountain Barn was the local hot spot for hanging with friends and grabbing a bite after enjoying Mount Wachusett. Now, the restaurant has been totally reimagined into The Barn! Okay, full transparency here… I have yet to enjoy a date night here, but I know I will very soon. Their rustic vibes, cool drink menu, and fun social media presence have me pretty darn excited.

Where do you love going on day dates? I would love to add some more cool spots to my list, so share away!
